On Tuesday, June 19, the Florida Panthers made their first major move in the offseason by acquiring Mike Hoffman from the San Jose Sharks (who had just been traded to San Jose by the Ottawa Senators).

This week our Eyes On column shifts to Tyler Bertuzzi of the Detroit Red Wings, the nephew of former NHLer Todd Bertuzzi. In 2013, Bertuzzi was the 2nd round pick (58th overall). He finally broke into the NHL this past season, playing 48 games and recording 24 points with the Wings.

During this week’s Eyes On, our feature shifts to the collegiate level and Montreal Canadiens prospect, Jake Evans. Evans is a player that grew during his years at Notre Dame. Evans is a player that has grown through the college ranks. Every year his point totals have increased while playing approximately 40 games per year. It is a sign of individual growth and a sign of what head coach Jeff Jackson has done with his program.
